CI Cyclones Soccer Methodology and Curriculum

CI Cyclones Soccer Club provides travel team and development programs for boys and girls of all levels between the ages of 4-17. Lessons cover all key game elements: dribbling moves, shooting, defending, first touch control, passing and receiving, support play and use of space, team offense, and defense. Full-field and small-sided games are supervised at each practice session.

Baby Steps (Age 4-7)

Provide an environment where kids can foster a love for the game while introducing basic skills, concepts of discipline, teamwork, and team spirit

Travel Team (U8-U11)

Developing excellent technical ability and playing with both feet is the essential foundation of young players, and continue advancing mobility, agility, coordination.  Introduction of tactical concepts through small-sided games, as applicable to 5v5 and 7v7 formations

Travel team (U12-U14)

Continue building excellent soccer technical skills using all parts of the foot and playing with both feet.  At this age, practices will be more oriented on building and learning tactical concepts applicable to 9v9 and 11v11 formations, through small-sided games and full team scrimmages.  Emphasis on tactical knowledge will be presented in a progressive order.

    • Introduction of chest control and headers for 12-year-olds
    • Long ball technique
  • Pre-teen tactical knowledge:

Travel team (U15-U18)

Bring together and continue advancing “complete player” skills, including technical abilities, thorough tactical knowledge, physical strength, and stamina, psychological aspects of the game, through high-intensity drills, small sided games and full sided scrimmages
